Who am I?
1987
2006

I ask myself that question all the time.
Probably a more appropriate question is "Who am I right now, in the present epoch?", which accounts for the temporal evolution of one's self. This is why people say things like "I'm not as young as I used to be" which (in my opinion) is a defeatist attitude.
In conclusion, this webpage is not updated frequently enough. Let's get to the basics...

A Brief History of Paul Goodall
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I was born in Liverpool (U.K) in 1984 (if you want to be more exact, I was really born in a small Viking town just outside Liverpool, called "Fazakerly", but most people pronounce that wrong).

I graduated in 2006 from Leeds University with a 1st class Masters' Degree in Physics and Astrophysics. I worked in the High Energy Astrophyics group there with Dr. Johannes Knapp. For my Masters' dissertation I studied Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECRs) observed using the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina. During my final year I obtained a graduate position at Oxford University and a PPARC studentship to continue my research in Astrophysics.

I am now a member of New College, Oxford, and I work for Professor Katherine Blundell and Professor Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell at the department of Astrophysics. We are studying energetic binary star systems called Microquasars. I work closely with Sebastian Perez, on the particularly stunning microquasar: SS433 (see 'My Research').

My curriculum vitae can be found here: Paul Thomas Goodall CV

I am grateful to the Science and Technology Facilities Council (which formed recently from the amalgamation of PPARC and CCLRC) who are funding my research degree.

I may not agree with that which you say, but I shall defend to the death, your right to say it!
